Prospective parents of Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students in 2014 and beyond
Please be aware that the fees for 2014 and beyond for students attending Thornlie Christian College will vary considerably from those that are currently on the 2013 College Fee Schedule.
The Board made a decision in 2011, that significant fee increases for Kindergarten and Pre Primary students would take place in 2013 and 2014, to bring the fees in line with the number of days that the students were attending in relation to the students in Primary School.
Thus as Pre Primary Students attend 5 days per week (the same as Primary School students) they will pay the same fee as from 2014. Based on the 2013 fee for Primary School ($5,049) and allowing for say a 6% increase in 2014, the fee for a Pre Primary Student in 2014 could be as high as $5,351.
The fees for Kindergarten Students (2.5 days per week) will be 50% of the Pre Primary Fee, which for 2014 could be as high as $2,675.

At its September meeting the College Board of Directors resolved to increase College tuition fees for 2013 by 6% in line with the College 10 Year Masterplan Projections. The increases in the levies for Kindergarten, Pre Primary and Primary reflect the cost recovery for items such as the booklists, swimming lessons, excursions, and standardised testing.. The Board will be continuing to review the fee structures of the College, with changes for Kindergarten and Pre Primary fees taking effect in 2013 and 2014.
In the consideration of the 2013 Budget, the Board has again issued a strong directive that costs are to be contained, and absolutely no additional burden is to be placed on families unnecessarily. In short, the fees being levied in 2013 reflect the bare minimum that we require to ensure the continued financial viability of the College.
The method of ascertaining low income families for automatic reduction in fees will be the same as in 2012, with Centrelink Pensioners Concession Card, Centrelink Family Health Care Card and Department of Veteran Affairs Pensioner Concession Card being the eligible cards.
